Spring 2006, Volume 29, #1 - Our 29th Year!
BHJ – I’M STILL HERE
Welcome to Prost 2006! I’m back after a disastrous computer crash early Oct 2005 – I turned on my PC, the power supply blew, & fried my hard drive, so I lost all the previous issues I had stashed, plus the membership list I had. I, the eternal optimist who never backed up anything, was going to replace the crashed PC to get more memory & a faster chip anyway after I got back from 2 weeks back east – the “fry” did me in. Thank heavens I bought a laptop a month earlier that I could plug into my DSL line, so I could clear out my overloaded mailboxes.
For 10+ years I was using Adobe PageMaker. From now on, MS Word – once I get used to it, the quality will improve & the content will increase. I’m not reconstituting the stuff that used to be on Page 2 – the officer info is on our website; the other extraneous stuff is history. Further – we’ll be distributing only electronically, except for a few “old-timers” who we know aren’t online & will post all issues at our web site.
If you didn’t get this via e-mail & are a paid-up member who picked this up off the website, PLEASE e-mail me ASAP: beerman49@msn.com – this is the mailbox I read first; I’ll copy & paste your address to my big address book at another mailbox on which I have my Malts’ group list stashed. This is a “quickie” issue – sometime in late May/Early June, I’ll have a bigger one – contributions welcome!!
For now, we have no calendar, except for the Oyster BBQ (see below) - we’ve ordered 1000 oysters (I hope smaller than the ones we had too many leftovers of) last year. E-mail me your “body count” - pay at the door if you can’t get a check in the mail by 4/24. If you’ve not paid your dues for 2006 yet, pay at the door or sent them to the NEW PO Box at the top of the page.
Peace & Good Brewing/Tasting! – MJK

HELP US FILL UP THE CALENDAR!!
Beyond the Oyster BBQ, the calendar is BLANK -except for Stern Grove Nov 10! For sure we’ll do another late summer Half Moon Bay outing, despite the circuitous routes we may have to take to get there, but that ain’t enuff! Step up! Volunteer to host a weekend get-together, organize a pub crawl, stage a brew-in, whatever. We don’t care what - just DO IT! E-mail your editor with suggestions/offers.
